One or both…
Those who are claiming or defaming the term ‘Evangelical’ have very often missed the point entirely. It isn’t about terminology.
I know people who are quick to promote and defend sin of every kind. Both dear friends and family members. I love them, but they don’t have a grasp on the truth. They haven’t read the Bible and certainly do not know God. Others have read the Bible and even have theological credentials, but sadly, do not know the author of the book.
Claiming to be ‘Evangelical’ doesn’t make you a child of God any more than sitting on a nest makes you a chicken.
Defaming ‘Evangelicals’ only provides further evidence that you probably are not one.
Both of these categories are simply devoid of the truth. The truth is not in them. They do not understand truth. They reject truth, and can not comprehend it. 1 John 2 describes them very accurately:
“He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.”
All of this has very little if anything to do with Donald Trump or Roy Moore. It has to do with truth, and whether or not you possess it.
It is true that there is nothing new under the sun. Since the time of Christ, people have rejected, denied and defamed Christ and those who follow Him. At the end of the day, it matters not what you call yourself or what the world calls you.
What matters is that you know Christ personally, and thereby have a personal relationship with God, and that you do your very best to follow His direction for your life.

We MUST return to our Government doing HIS work
John, it is not the charge of government to do His work. It is the individual responsibility of every person.
Thank you. God said the way to Heaven was through feeding the hungry, caring for the sick and welcoming the stranger (Matthew 25:34 et seq. whom God said is He Himself. Our government is abandoning God (the poor, sick, immigrant). It is being controlled by the Anti-Christ. Christ would certainly support food stamps, medicaid, etc. The current government is against Him.
Actually, those things would be ‘good works’. God didn’t say that’s the way to Heaven. The only way is through personal acceptance of Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. The ‘works’ will follow.
