The Founding Fathers understood the meaning of those words.
They knew that by signing historical documents of rebellion against a tyrannical government, they were signing their own death warrant. If they were unsuccessful, they would be shot or hanged for treason. They knew what they were doing, and they meant what they said. Their lives were in the balance.
Fast forward to today.
Conservative Christians better be prepared, if they enter the political fray. They will be the subject of the modern-day assassination: Character assassination. Those of us who have dared to engage in this battle have learned lessons first-hand.
While some notable political leaders have literally lost their lives at the hands of an assassin, many more have been wounded… some mortally… by the unholy opposition. The significant disregard for the financial and personal cost paid by those with a genuine heart to serve further compounds the pain and suffering.
Misrepresentations, misinformation, slander and outright lies are allowed… even encouraged and promoted by the unholy opposition. There is an alliance of unrighteousness that swears a silent oath to destroy those who dare to stand for honor and truth, based on the dictates of Holy Scripture. The hatred of the message and the messenger motivates and propels these modern assassins. The only rule of engagement is to destroy by any means, at any cost.
Service to God and fellow man is an honorable path to choose. It does not, however, come without great personal cost. At the end of the day (and the end of this life), the reward we seek is simple. We want to hear these words from the Master of the Universe:
“Well done, thou good and faithful servant”.

I wish your mission was accurate for all the so call Conservative Christians. As the way I see it those fake conservative Christians aren’t helping the hurting, providing truth and information to the lost and dying world. So many of today’s fake conservative Christians are lining their own pockets and giving true Christian a bad name.
