Only 34% support US involvement in Libya

By Ed Randazzo

What you say? Over the past few days I have heard that 70% support US involvement in Libya. I refused to believe these reports and on Tuesday Rasmussen Reports released their latest poll on this subject and here are the facts.

The Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey – taken over the last two nights – finds that 34% of Likely U.S. Voters now think the United States should get more directly involved in the Libyan crisis.  Forty-eight percent (48%) say the United States should leave the situation alone. Eighteen percent (18%) are not sure which course is best.

That’s not anywhere near a 70% approval rating for the Libyan odyssey. I expect that the current 34% support will erode rapidly as it becomes clear to the American people that there is no clear end game to this lunacy and the bills pile up for the US on our already debt-laden economy.

Who are these Libyan rebels? Who are their leaders? How will we be compensated for the Tomahawk missiles ($600,000.00 per each), the F-15 we have already lost and the undefinble additional costs incurred to accomplish what?

I didn’t think you believed in the “majority.” Maybe only when it suits you?

I hear some Libyan rebels shouting, “Thank Allah that America is a republic, not a democracy!”
