Separating illegal immigrants from their children…
Is it immoral?
Proponents and opponents are using the Bible to justify their positions. These innocent children are being used as political pawns… but not just by Leftists and Conservatives. The illegal immigrants themselves are “using” the children, in many cases. They come with children, believing that they will get preferential treatment because the kids are with them. Thugs, smugglers and other illegal profiteers find the children convenient tools as well. Perhaps we should talk about the immorality of those practices.
Personally, I find the whole discussion little more than political rhetoric.
If morality were REALLY the issue, these political factions would come together and end the killing of 3,000 unborn children EVERY DAY in America. That, my friends, is immoral. Those who are enraged by the detention and separation of the children of illegal immigrants turn a blind eye to the brutal dismembering and killing of these thousands of children who are aborted every day. Please explain your selective morality to me.
In my view, the partisan rhetoric is a foundation for immorality.

So sad that some people will break the law with little or no thought of the harm they are doing to their children when they behave lawlessly.
We don’t give lawbreakers a pass because they have children when they assault, steal, or trespass on private property. We shouldn’t give lawbreakers a pass when they violate a nation’s borders and a nation’s immigration law.
I listened to a couple of good podcasts on the subject of illegal immigration in the past 24 hours.
Ben Shapiro isn’t a Christian (he’s Jewish) but he’s pretty reliably conservative and approaches most things from a common sense and OT Biblical perspective. Yesterday’s show dealt with a lot of topics, and one of them was the wailing and moaning of the Left about separating children from their lawbreaking parents when they are in our country illegally. To be consistent, would they have us put the children in jail with their lawbreaking parents when those parents assault, murder, steal, or whatever? The Left would opt for lawlessness, but no rational, civilized nation can do that. If some adults insist on breaking our nation’s immigration law and dragging their children into it, the best we can do is treat them all humanely, then send them all home once processed–we should NOT reward lawlessness. https://soundcloud.com/benshapiroshow/ep561
Another good podcast on the topic of illegal immigration that I listened to this morning featured Sean McDowell (son of “Evidence That Demands a Verdict” author Josh McDowell) and a discussion of the Bible’s teaching on immigration, compassion, and the rule of law. People who call themselves Christians have an extra obligation to employ the WHOLE counsel of God’s word, not just the feel-good parts that allow us to think of ourselves as “nice guys.” No human can be nicer than the being who gave his life for his enemies….while and in the process of upholding the rule of law against lawlessness.

I believe separating them from their adult companion should be stopped immediately. If they come with children illegally both adult and child should be turned around and sent home. Period. Don’t separate them, send them back together. We have legal immigration procedures. If they do not want to abide by them then they are breaking our laws in the first place and have no standing.
