“Dan Kaiser was pressured to withdraw”
That is the report of credible sources at the South Dakota Republican Convention.
Conservative delegates (many of whom wanted Nelson in the first place) are now working to Draft him as the nominee for Lt. Governor.
The office of Lt. Governor is a Constitutional office, and the nominee is chosen by the delegates. Most often, they follow the Governor-nominee unless there is significant concern. In this case, Conservative delegates are not satisfied with the nominee’s choice, and are moving to nominate a Lt. Governor more acceptable to them.
Reports from the convention indicate that the “Establishment” wing of the party has a choke-hold on the rules, protocol and procedures. That has made for some very unhappy Conservatives.
Whether the draft Stace Nelson movement is successful will be known soon. If Conservatives are able to nominate Nelson, they will have a seat at the table. If they are not successful in their efforts, the Establishment should take notice. A unified party must engage and include Conservatives.
If the Establishment Republicans intend to run rough-shod over Conservative delegates and Legislators, it could cost them dearly. The Democrat nominee for Governor is coming with plenty of resources and good name recognition. The Republican party needs Conservatives to win. Without them, the party looses.
Perhaps, even the race for Governor.

Does anyone think Noem will lose if Rhoden is selected at convention?
Yes, Noem has a good chance of losing particularly after spitting in the eye of Conservatives. Good riddance!
