Roger Hunt needed no introduction in Pro Life circles.

He was a leader in the battle to protect unborn children.  His service of 20 years in the South Dakota State Legislature was dedicated to issues of moral significance, most notably, defense of unborn children.

Roger will be remembered fondly by many.  Among them is Leslee Unruh, of the Alpha Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  She penned these words, which express the heartfelt sentiments of those who knew Roger Hunt.

THRONGS OF CHILDREN WELCOME ROGER HUNT AT HEAVENS GATES ….My heart is aching today for the Roger Hunt family .
Our dear friend Sharon who has been struggling with leukemia,
lost her beloved husband Roger last night .
He became ill soon after Sharon’s diagnosis and then had to undergo many surgeries that became very complicated . After four very difficult weeks, God called Roger to his heavenly home last night .
Roger touched many lives as a JAG officer who served around… the world. Founding board member Of Alpha Center . And he served as a SD State House Representative who served the people of South Dakota, Roger sponsored ground breaking legislation that has put SD on the world map to change America for unborn children .
Roger touched everyone with his great wisdom , kindness and great love for country. His love for his wife Sharon and family was great . He adored Sharon . Dawn , Heather and Lamont you have been left an amazing legacy . Your families will be in our prayers.
His gentle steadfast way about life calmed even those who held separate views in the legislature . He had much persecution because of the landmark laws he changed for the unborn . For that he is my hero and hero of the babies who could not speak for them selves so Roger spoke for them .
When he closed his eyes to this world, he opened them in heaven.
