Frankenstein babies??

A Chinese scientist claims to have “produced” the world’s first genetically altered babies.  Through a process of in vitro fertilization, the DNA of human embryos was “edited”.  The genes of these babies were altered with the objective of creating an immunity to HIV.

Others are already busy with more  “options”.  Designer babies is one of the next directions with  this procedure.  Babies without mothers and three parent babies are in the minds (and perhaps the test tubes) somewhere.  Armies of warriors or worker-humans “created” for single purpose missions?  It doesn’t take much imagination to see how this kind of meddling could go terribly wrong.

The ethical and moral consequences are beyond our ability to comprehend.

The fact is that life is sacred.  It is a gift from God.  The convenience-killing of unborn children has seared the conscience of society and established an environment where life can simply be put in a shopping cart or thrown in the garbage.

This is scary stuff.
