But just for a little while…
Shirley Boone, daughter of legendary country music singer, Red Foley, and wife of Pat Boone, has left this earth to be in her heavenly home. In this interview with Pat Robertson, Pat Boone recaps the life of his incredible wife, and their life together. It is a very insightful and inspirational tribute.
The one thing that stood out to me, when asked about the key to their successful life, was Boone’s response, “the baptism of the Holy Ghost”. This often rejected and maligned experience with God is described in Acts 2:1-4,
“When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place.2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.”
This experience transformed the disciples of that day, and continues to empower believers today, to live a victorious and committed life in the midst of life’s many challenges.
