43 Democrat Senators refuse to reject it.
Leftists are complaining that the Senate vote on the Green New Deal was just a ‘political stunt’. The REAL question was, “Do you support this plan or not?”.
It would have been simple to vote “No” . That, however, was problematic for 43 Leftist Senators. Knowing that the proposal was destined to fail, they chose to vote “Present”. That was the only way they could take cover. Only two Democrat Senators voted “no”. The remaining 43 could not bring themselves to oppose this nut-case proposal.
Since the Green New Deal failed to pass in the Senate, you should get your affairs in order. According to Leftists, you only have 12 years before the world ends.
In case you take comfort in this initial failure, you might want to reconsider your level of comfort. If (God forbid) Leftists EVER gain control of the political process, this Green New Deal will not only be a topic of serious consideration… it will become the law of the land. This 57-43 vote victory was, in fact, a VERY small margin of victory.
Make no mistake. The movement to transform our Republic into a Socialist nightmare is a very real and present danger. As the Leftist candidates line up to run for President, the true colors of the Democrat Party are being exposed. Those 43 Senators who voted “Present” did so because they were not yet ready to show their true colors. If they are EVER in a position of political power, you will see them openly supporting the Green New Deal and every other Socialist, gun grabbing, Liberty destroying policy you can imagine… and some you can’t.
The Green New Deal is NOT dead…
… It is just on hold until Leftists have the votes to pass it.
