Conservatives who get their news from television are fighting a losing battle. TV is a propaganda machine that’s way too one-sided. Include most of the other programming and commercials. You’ll end up a California conservative, that is, one of the RINO or establishment liberals who think they’re still conservative.
You’ll self-identify as a conservative or middle-of-the-roader. You’ll think your political convictions and moral compass are strong enough to keep you independent. Slowly but surely, however, you’ve become a liberal. Listening between the lines isn’t wise for most people.
Busy people watch television at night because they either work during the day—or are retirees who feel it important to lead an active, well-rounded life. This is why Twitter is a godsend for conservatives. President Trump can be read unfiltered, in text that he’s personally chosen to get a point across in as few words as possible. Just add https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump to your computer’s desktop or screen. How would you like your own thoughts represented by someone who hates you? Would that be fair?
For the conservative with even more time, reading full text transcripts of President Trump’s speeches will provide more depth and breadth—as will listening to full text video of his speeches on YouTube. Search engines will show you what’s available, but these two options will typically takes days or weeks to show up. Not good.
The real Donald Trump web address means that you don’t have to “sign up” for Twitter. You’re under no obligation to read any of the flood of comments that follow the president’s Tweet, though conservative support is more likely to be found here. There’s no reason to undertake bewildering diversity until you’re ready for it. Keep in mind that most detracting “opinion” is just secondhand emotional parroting of the liberal mindset alluded to above, already unfairly dominant in media monopolies.
Even FoxNews is too caught up in “bottom line” concerns, so is forced into plenty of tabloid-like trivializations and distractions. Keep in mind that by clicking on them, you’re explicitly supporting more of the same, not to mention registering forever your own online viewing habits and weaknesses. Such is privacy today.
