I WHOLEHEARTEDLY AGREE WITH DEMOCRAT PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE JOE BIDEN; 100%!!!!
I saw a video clip from his speech announcing his candidacy for President where Mr. Biden, with a look of grave seriousness on his face, and a very somber tone in his voice, looked squarely into the camera lens and said; “We are in a battle for the soul of this nation.” I can say this about that; “Joe, if you never, ever define another issue correctly; you have hit the nail squarely on the head with that statement!”
When we have people at every level of government fervently produce and defend laws: that have ZERO respect for the life of the unborn, and others that allow cities or states to refuse to enforce federal laws and harbor criminals from prosecution; we have a problem. When “accusations”, or “subtle opinions”, instantly become “facts” that are deliberately used in the attempt to undermine or destroy someone’s character solely for the personal or political gain of others; and when “facts” do emerge that are contrary to the prevailing agenda, they are brushed aside with no remorse for the damage done; we have a problem. When a growing number of the general public and politicians, treat the foundational principles of this nation with disrespect and disdain; we have a problem. When attacking the foundation of faith in God that was held by the vast majority of the founders of this nation, becomes more and more popular; we have a problem.
So Joe, you are correct; “We are in a battle for the soul of this nation.” But there is good news!
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Ephesians 6:10-13 (NASB)
“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses.” 2 Corinthians 10:3-4 (NASB)
“if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV)
“We are in a battle for the soul of this nation.” The question is are; “My people who are called by My name” willing to “humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways”? That will be the determining factor in what is probably the most significant “battle” this nation has faced in its history!
I feel that some selected words of Abraham Lincoln may be applicable to the time in which we find ourselves: “Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived, and so dedicated, can long endure…..It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us—that … we take increased devotion to that cause… that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom, and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.”
