Don’t surrender our 2nd Amendment rights.

We hear the arguments coming from the halls of Congress in support of “Red Flag” laws.  We think they should be called “White Flag” laws.

One of the most empty promises is that we would be provided “due process” before our guns would be taken.  Yes, we trust our government will always give us due process.  NOT!  There is a long, long list of examples to show serious abuses of ‘due process’.

“We want to keep guns out of the hands of mentally unstable people”.  It might sound good on its face, but who makes the decision regarding your mental stability.  Would you be considered mentally unstable if you have strong convictions regarding your faith?  In today’s world, that would certainly qualify you as mentally unstable in many circles.

Well intentioned laws become a nightmare with the wrong people in positions of power.

Senator Thune, Senator Rounds and Representative Johnson, South Dakota is watching.  Don’t legislate away any more of our second amendment rights.  Don’t cave to the political pressure to “do something” about mass shootings that would compromise the rights of law abiding gun owners.  If you want to “do something”, fund the wall and reduce the national debt.

People who are intent on hurting other people will find a way, even if you make it “illegal” for them to possess a firearm.

We will remember what you do on this important issue.  Your support for our second amendment rights will be remembered.  We encourage you to defend our rights.  We will also remember those who infringe our second amendment rights.

Your job is to defend our Constitution, not compromise it.
