Education is returning more and more to the home. Homeschooling is on the rise. Self-education is making a comeback in the lives of people of all ages. Many no longer believe that learning is just for kids. The internet is the liberating force that is making this happen in partnership with printed books.
Only the most gullible parents still think that sending their kids off to college is the right thing to do. While engineering and science disciplines are bravely fighting for rigor and standards, most students drift into the humanities and social sciences, departments that are fully in the hands of far left ideologues these days. Woe to parents, students, and American education at all levels.
Pick out what’s worst in the Democratic Party agenda, and you’ll find it not-so-deeply embedded in course offerings, course descriptions to the contrary. Faculty searches have done too good a job culling traditional or conservative professors, loading the teaching ranks and administration on the left end, away from freedom of thought and traditional values. What’s being learned won’t pass the test–so get rid of the test.
Neither parents, students, or even the faculty themselves think about this consciously. Instead, there’re some fuzzy notions about survival in a newly fashioned political world order. Off the kids go to a liberal indoctrination center in some sprawling big city. When they come home for visits, look for evidence of all the worst trans-type values, political and social alike. The visits will become fewer. They will settle with their friends in distant urban zones. Count them as lost to your family.
National media companies, broadcast and print, are the last place you should look to find out what’s really happening in education. Parents are often willing dupes, but there is a heartbreaking price to pay. Even so, the free media in the US still can feel an authentic and honest pulse in internet resources. FoxNews’ Tucker Carlson is doing his best to save our families before the damage has been done. His recent free YouTube segments are the least that concerned parents and citizens should look into.
I’m all for a future world where students learn on their own, usually at home, then pass tests and be certified by a professional panel of proven experts when they’re ready to get a college diploma and post-graduate degrees.
