The birth certificate changes nothing

By Ed Randazzo

I am not now nor have I been a “birther”.

But the lack of the the hard evidence of a birth certificate is testament to the arrogance of the man and disdain that Mr. Obama harbors for the laws he is sworn to uphold. The Constitution of the United States requires that the president be a natural born citizen. The honorable thing to do would have been to offer this birth certificate when the question first arose. He chose not to do so.

I had to produce my birth certificate to renew my driver’s license. He waited until a propective challenger for his job began getting political traction with this issue.

Beyond the document is the real issue. Is Barack Obama one of us? Is his heart truly American? He seems uncomfortable, submissive and deferential with foreign leaders. His domestic agenda is socialist.

His actions do not match his words. Yesterday, when speaking about the birth certificate issue, he said “We do not have time for this kind of silliness”. We’ve got better stuff to do. I’ve got better stuff to do.”

He then proceeded to jet off to Chicago. He wouldn’t want to keep Oprah waiting now. And then off to his big New York fundraiser later.

Is this the better stuff he has to do?

Obama’s mother was a U.S. citizen at the time of his birth, therefore he could have been born on the moon and would still be eligible to be president.

Typical progressive……can’t read. I was never a birther but you seem to be pretty defensive about your boy’s eligibility.

“Boy?” And you far right religious types wonder why many people think you’re racists? Anyway, I’m an Independent. And I voted for McCain. I’m an American first and foremost, not driven by partisan extremism like the tea party/evangelical movement is. So I can give credit whre credit is due.

Remember this prediction, that President Obama will be re-elected by a double digit margin next election. Better get used to him. Oh, and I will be voting for him this time, as will most of the Independents in this country. We’re the guys who determine the outcome of presidential elections, remember?

I’m so happy nthat you are predicting an Obama win in 2012. You haven’t been right about anything yet so I’m thinking he’s a one termer. Get over yourself, Inde. You independent boys sure made a lot of difference in the last election. Oops, did I offend you by referring to you as “boy”. Are you a boy? Can’t tell by that handle you hide behind. Did your parents name you Independent or do you just relish operating in the dark? Ashamed of your name? Step up, Inde. Sign your work or don’t say it.

The only people who didn’t think there was “hard evidence” of a birth certificate before yesterday are idiots (aka conservatives). In 2008, Obama released his short form birth certificate. That’s the certificate most states will give you when you ask for your birth certificate. It’s probably the same thing you use to renew your drivers license. Most states don’t give out the long form version that Obama released yesterday. You have to file a Freedom of Information Act request and it sounds like Hawaii could’ve still refused to give it out. So Obama DID release his birth certificate in 2008, but some people are too stupid to understand it.

Of course President Obama is one of us. He’s American. You just disagree with him on his politics. Conservatives have to get out of the habit of demonizing people they disagree with. Both liberals and conservatives love America and want what’s best for the country, but they disagree about how to go about it.

And I do agree that making a big deal about “having better things to do” and then going to tape an Oprah interview looked bad. Even the Daily Show made fun of him for that.

Listen to yourself, Haggs. “Conservatives have to get out of the habit of demonizing people they disagree with.” But conservatives are idiots. If it’s dialogue and harmony you want then quit the name-calling.
