“if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.”
Those are not my words, but the words of Jesus (Mark 3:25).
It is long past time that believers seek the will of God and set aside their own agendas. There are few, if any, issues on which the division is so stark as politics. A reasonable person has to wonder how this can be. I think of a great gospel song with the words, “I know the Bible is right… somebody’s wrong”. How true. The question is, “who”?
In recent days I have been called a racist (by a fellow believer) because I support President Donald Trump. That isn’t the worst I’ve been called, just one of the latest. On the other hand, I struggle to understand how a Christian could support former Vice President Biden (or any Democrat, for that matter) who support abortion and other issues that seem to run counter to Scripture.
Somebody’s wrong.
Who? I don’t think we can argue our way to a resolution. We can, however, agree to pray together. We MUST continue to love one another. If we will love each other and pray a genuine prayer that God will help us see HIS will, I believe our division can disappear.
It’s time for us all to take another long and serious look at 2 Chronicles 7:14
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
Brothers and Sisters. Let us pray.
