Hating the Apostle Peter

Peter’s behavior could easily make him unpopular in “spiritual” circles.

He was a coward.

He denied Jesus.

He cursed.

Even after the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, his speech was fiery and accusatory.

I imagine his personality to be rough and sometimes obnoxious.

The question on my mind is this, “If I find Peter’s personality and behavior offensive, does that give me license to support Judas”?

The President of the United States could be compared to the Apostle Peter in many ways. A lot of professing Christians find him very offensive. Will that be sufficient cover when they have to answer for supporting the Democrat, who (along with his Party’s platform) embraces and promotes abortion? Does it excuse Christians who vote for candidates and the party that abandons the very principles of Scripture?

I am aware that there are professing Christians who will take issue with my perspective on this. I am also aware that they may find me and my perspective offensive. These professing Christians may also justify their own perspective with Scripture. So where does that leave us all?

We MUST pray together (and for each other) that God will correct our thinking to align with His. It’s time to lay our own opinions and theology on the altar and ask God to fill our minds and our hearts with HIS.
