There is talk among Tea Party folks about the 2014 US Senate seat in South Dakota.  Insurance company owner and former Governor Mike Rounds has indicated he might run.

That doesn’t excite most Tea Party members, who see him as anything but a real conservative.

But there is another name that makes the Tea Party stand up and shout!! 

Enter… former State Senator, Bill Napoli.

I met with Senator Napoli and his wife, Peggy on Saturday.  While Bill is quick to say he has retired, it is impossible to ignore the twinkle in his eyes when he says it.

I asked him if he would consider running for the US Senate seat in 2014.  Let’s just say, the thought has crossed his mind!  The entire conversation will not appear in this post, but I will offer my personal conclusion.  With a show of support, it wouldn’t take much to get him to run.

Senator Napoli’s conservative credentials are unquestionable. 

He has proven himself to be a rough and tumble statesman who carried the conservative banner well.  He is also someone who is not afraid to tell you what he thinks… regardless of your reaction!

At a time when our nation is governed by politicians in both parties who are more interested in their own re-election than the welfare of our country, we don’t need another establishment Republican.  We need a Senator Napoli!!
