ObamaCare Had a Bad Day in Court

That ringing you heard yesterday evening was Solicitor General Don Verrilli’s secure cell phone ringing. I’m quite sure the storied Obama temper was flaring at his Solicitor General for yesterdays “trainwreck” at the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS).

After all the signature legislation of the Obama Administration, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), commonly known as ObamaCare had a bad day in SCOTUS.

Justices zeroed in on the mandate portion of PPACA, skewered it, roasted it and peppered Verrilli with pointed questions that left him stammering, hesitating and grasping for answers. Verrilli seemed unprepared for the questions, but really I think he was just asked by the Obama Administration to defend the indefensible.

I’m sure Justice Elena Kagan was thinking John Bradford’s famous quote, “There but for the grace of God go I.”

Not everyone had a bad day though, I think the people of the United States had a good day.
