The South Dakota Republican Leadership has failed the integrity test.

Fortunately, “Team Conservative” has risen to the challenge. Well done, team!!!

The leadership team in the South Dakota Legislature has

Delivered over $60 million dollars in annual tax increases during their current term, but told us they balanced the budget without raising taxes.
Began the implementation of ObamaCare in South Dakota, while telling us they were in favor of repealing it.
Voted AGAINST efforts to repeal ObamaCare, again, telling us they were in favor of repealing it.
Took a million dollars from the federal government to begin implementation of ObamaCare in SD, again telling us they were in favor of repealing it.
Refused to sign a pledge to repeal ObamaCare in SD, yes…. while telling us they were in favor of repealing it.
Insisted they oppose ObamaCare, while the state is advertising for a full-time health care exchange MANAGER, whose stated job is to implement ObamaCare.
Expelled conservative Legislators from the Republican caucus.
Expelled a conservative Legislator from his committee position, and refused to acknowledge him on the House floor.
Moved a conservative Legislator to the “front” of the House floor, as an attempt to intimidate, punish and silence him.
Interfered with conservative Legislator’s legislation in an attempt to deny them access to information and due process of their bills.
Threatened conservative Legislators with retribution if they did not follow “leadership instructions”.
Killed legislation that would make all Legislator’s voting records easily available to taxpayers.

The list continues, but I think by now you get the point….

Voting records and a selection of scorecards reveal that at least one-third of the Republicans elected to the State Legislator don’t belong in the Republican party, if it is still the party of Reagan conservatives.

BUT…

The South Dakota conservative team has done something about it!!!

A statewide effort was launched to recruit conservative Christian candidates to challenge the liberal/moderate Republicans in the Legislature.

At last count, there are nearly thirty Republican primary challenges. 12 in the Senate and 15 in the House. Conservatives have stepped up to challenge these liberal/moderate Republicans who have failed to support conservative Christian principles.

It will prove to be an interesting primary election. Come early June, we will see if the liberal/moderate wing of the Republican party rules, or if conservative Christians will restore common sense, integrity and fiscal responsibility to State government.

It will prove to be an interesting primary election. Come early June, we will see if the liberal/moderate wing of the Republican party rules, or if conservative Christians will restore common sense, integrity and fiscal responsibility to State government.

In the meantime, we have work to do. It’s time for YOU to step up and help!
